Abstract
1381844 Coin-freed apparatus WURLITZER CO 21 March 1973 [29 Dec 19721 13485/73 Heading G4V A coin totalizer, credit storage and selector logic circuit comprises a first circuit means 10 providing logic pulse signals corresponding to the values of coins sensed thereby, a memory circuit 12 coupled to the first circuit means and having discrete output terminals each corresponding to a different total accumulation of coins and connected to selector means to allow selections of a corresponding value to be made, and second circuit means 14 connected to the selector means to provide a reset signal to the memory circuit upon actuation of the selector means. The embodiment described is particularly concerned with controlling the operation of a juke box and accepts 25 c. and 50 c. coins up to a total value of $1.00, each selection made costing 25 c. Pulses are produced from NAND gates 21, 24 respectively on the insertion of 25 c. and 50 c. coins these pulses being applied via a gating network 13 to appropriate ones of flipflop circuits 32, 49, 57 and 62 (each comprising a pair of cross-coupled NOR gates) depending on the value of the coin and the total value already accumulated in the memory circuit 12 and after a time delay provided by multivibrator 34 the outputs of the set of flip-flops are applied as inputs to corresponding flip-flops 42, 50, 58 and 63 in the memory circuit 12. The outputs of AND gates 64, 69 and 72 and the output 7.6 of flip-flop 63 respectively provide indications of total credit of 25 c., 50 c., 75 c. and $1.00 and are connected via a socket (68) to external selector means to enable selections to be made up to the corresponding value (Figs. 1 and 7, not shown). When the first selection is made a multivibrator 82 is actuated to provide a reset pulse to all the flip-flops of the memory circuit. The selections made are stored in a selector memory circuit (16) (Figs. 4 to 6, not shown) comprising a respective flip-flop circuit for each selection, the outputs of the flip-flops controlling the positioning of the turret mechanism of the juke box.
