Abstract
1381638 Infusors INTERELECTRIC AG 23 June 1972 [30 June 1971 28 March 1972 11 April 1972] 29529/72 Heading A4E [Also in Division B1] A reusable coffee filter comprises a reservoir for coffee powder associated with a metallic sieve sheet made by electro-deposition and having elongated slits which have an entry width of 20 to 100 microns and which become wider in the direction of flow. Fig. 1 shows a hot water container 1 having a outlet opening 2 of predetermined flow resistance such that the water will take a set time to flow through coffee reservoir 3. The sieve sheet 4 forms the sides and bottom of reservoir 3. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, the hot water container is formed of transparent plastics into which is embedded the ends of sieve sheet basket 15 defining the coffee reservoir. The bottom 14 of the basket is similarly joined to the side wall 15 by means of plastics embeddings. Hole 19 of predetermined flow resistance is mounted in a removable plate 18. Other embodiments are described wherein a sieve basket is mounted at the bottom of a frusto-conical vessel Fig. 5 (not shown) and wherein the reservoir is formed by a plastics tube having the sieve sheet attached across the bottom thereof Fig. 8 (not shown).
