Abstract

1379952 Spray carburetters NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 7 March 1972 [11 March 1971] 10611/72 Heading F1B In a carburetter having a main mixture circuit 18 opening to the Venturi 16 and an idling mixture circuit 22, 24, 26 opening downstream of the throttle valve 14, a passage 36 by-passing the Venturi and throttle valve has an air metering jet 40, a fuel supply passage 44 containing a metering jet 42 and a mixture control valve 78. The valveoperating diaphragm 74 opens the valve 78 against the bias of a spring 82 when, during deceleration with the throttle valve 14 substantially fully closed, the vacuum downstream of the throttle valve exceeds a predetermined value, e.g. 550 mm. of Hg. The predetermined vacuum acting through a passage 72 causes the valve 66 to be opened by the diaphragm 60 and vacuum to be applied to the diaphragm 74.
