Abstract

137,993. Caterpillar Tractors, Ltd., (Holt Manufacturing Co.). May 15, 1919. Endless-track vehicles.-The trucks 20 carry the idlers 17 and are pivoted to a shaft 12 which is carried by bearings 13 on the main frame, the trucks being furnished with bearings 23 and 22 located on either side of the bearings 13; the bearings 22 are provided on extension plates 21 from the truck frames. The truck rollers 14 are equally disposed on opposite sides of the shaft 12. and springs which lie in pockets 19 are provided at both ends of the trucks. The driving sprockets are mounted on the main frame, and thrust members connect the sprocket axles with the axle 12. The idlers 17 are mounted in yokes 25 which are connected by adjustable rods 26 with blocks 27 integral with the bearings 23. The yokes are bolted to the truck frames, slots 28 being provided to allow their adjustment. Specification 19774/13 is referred to.
