Abstract

1379643 Climbing jack clamps N F BROOKER PTY Ltd 29 June 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 30491/72 Heading B8J [Also in Division E2] A clamp for a fluid pressure operated climbing jack comprises a plurality of rollers 3 adapted to wedge between a climbing rod (Fig. 2, not shown) and the tapered inner wall (2) of a housing 1. The rollers 3 are a free sliding fit in castellations 4 of a roller holder 5 and the axial section of the curved surface of each roller 3 is an arc of a circle with a radius corresponding to the radius of the housing 1 where the rollers 3 contact. Studs 11 are provided to indicate the amount of piston displacement as described in Specification 1,216,650.
