Abstract

1379043 Coating GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 11 Nov 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 52462/71 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Copper wires, which may have a polyesterimide sub-coating, Al, steel and glass are coated with a polymer which has been made by (1) reacting a tricarboxylic acid anhydride with a polyamine to form an amide-imide prepolymer and (2) reacting the prepolymer with an optionall blocked polyisocyanate, #75% moles of the above anhydride may be replaced by one or more of an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid or anhydride or an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid. The polymer may be used in solution to form the coatings, which'may subsequently be cured. A pigment paste may be added to a solution of the polymer to form a paint.
