Abstract

1378495 Brakes for wheeled pallets ROSS & BONNYMAN (ENG) Ltd 13 March 1972 [12 Dec 1970] 59202/70 Heading F2E A wheeled pallet 10 has, for one or more of its wheels, braking means including a plunger 23 having integral with it or attached to it a brake shoe or pad, the plunger being spring-biased to a position in which it engages an associated wheel 31, operating means, 32 to 38, being provided for enabling the plunger 23 to be in the wheel-engaging position or in a withdrawn, inoperative position, the operating means having cam means 38 rotatable by means of a shaft 37 and an operating member 32 (a pedal as shown), movable to impart (indirectly, as shown) a partial rotary movement to the shaft 37. Preferably concentric grooves or ribs 26, 27, optionally on a rubber or like disc, are provided. Shaft 37 may be common to cam means for two of the wheels. As shown, the wheel 31 is arranged to swivel about the axis of the plunger 23.
