Abstract

1376643 Prefabricated buildings; modular structures SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE RECHERCHE ET DE REALISATION DE L'HABITAT 17 May 1972 23228/72 Headings E1A and E1K [Also in Division F2] A prefabricated room unit 1, Fig. 1, consists of a floor and a ceiling each made up from two identical sections such as 2a, 2b which are stiffened by pre-stressed cables such as 4 and are spaced apart by frames 9a, 9b, 9c each having studs 10 for positioning the room unit on a support column 30, wall panels 11 being provided as shown. The self-supporting frames forming the floor and ceiling and the vertical frames 9 are made from stamped sheets spaced apart and filled with an insulating material such as self-adherent polyurethane foam. Each column 30 is provided with an apertured flange adapted to seat four room units, see Fig. 4 (not shown), adjacent room units being bolted together and each vertical frame thereof having a storm water drainage downpipe therein. Certain room units may be connected as by collars 42, Fig. 5, to a shaft 40 made up from four sectors 41 and provided with ventilation pipes, feed water supply and waste pipes, see Figs. 6a, 6b and 6c (not shown). For innumerable minor details concerning dimensions, seals, wind-bracing, gas and electrical services, layouts of single storey and multi-storey buildings the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to.
