Abstract

1375999 Welding flux NIPPON STEEL CORP 29 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970 19 Nov 1971] 60495/71 Heading C7M A flux-cored electrode wire wherein the flux contains 10-30% Mg-Al (Al 30-70%), 40-80% metal fluoride (other than LiF), 2-20% Mn, and 0.5-10% of LiF and/or complex fluorides, e.g. K 2 ZrF 6 , Na 2 ZrF 6 , K 2 TiF 6 , Na 2 TiF 6 . The metal fluoride is one or more of CaF 2 , AlF 3 , MgF 2 , KF and NaF. In addition the flux may include Ni, Cu, Cr, Ti or Fe as powder. CaCO 3 and/or MgCO 3 , and one or more of MgO, Al 2 O 3 , TiO 2 . The flux makes up 10-40 wt per cent of the electrode wire. The Mu may be present as Fe-Mu.
