Abstract

1375300 Valves SERCK INDUSTRIES Ltd 16 June 1970 57495/72 Divided out of 1315955 Heading F2V A butterfly valve has a disc 10 having a part spherical periphery 13 through which bores 22 pass from recesses 20, 21 respectively. To open the valve the disc is rotated anti-clockwise allowing fluid to pass firstly through the smaller diameter bores and then through the larger ones. The recesses enable fluid to apply an opening torque to the disc.
