Abstract
1374723 Cathode-ray tubes RCA CORPORATION 27 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971] 59669/72 Heading HID An apertured mask of a cathode-ray tube is coated with an organic film, e.g. to temporarily reduce the size of the apertures for printing photographically the luminescent screen, by rotating the mask 10 about an axis 25 normal to the centre of the mask which is convex face upwards, the angle 29 being 100 to 130 degrees, with a stream 38 of a solution of the film material projecting on to a central area of the mask above the centre and at an angle 42 less than 15 degrees, the mask being rotated at least once to apply the film and then at a faster rate to remove excess film material.
