Draw-gear; combined buffer and draw-gear.- Consists in improvements in draw-gear for railway &c. vehicles of the kind comprising a number of springs, each of which is associated with a bar or rod arranged upon either side of the draw-hook. In the construction shown in Fig. 2. the shank b of the draw-hook a has a cross-head d pivoted to it, and two draw-bars e pass through the cross-head, the springs g being interposed between the cross-head and washers h on the ends of the draw-bars. In a modification, washers upon the outer ends of the draw-bars bear directly against the cross-head, the drawbars pass through the cross-head and through cross-bearers or transoms adjacent to the headstock, and the springs are arranged between these transoms and washers upon the inner ends of the draw-bars. In another construction, Fig. 5, which shows a central combined draw-hook and buffing-bar, movable angle plates p are arranged upon the bar x and have a sliding movement upon angles q limited bv stops r, the springs g being located between the plates p around draw-bolts g<1>. The headstock in the first two constructions may be strengthened by angle-irons and wearing- strips for the shank of the draw-hook.
