Abstract

1372886 Tractors C VAN DER LELY NV 28 Oct 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 50279/71 Headings B7H and B7B An agricultural or other tractor has a closable cabin 16, an engine 27, and a gear-box located in a central portion 2A of a longitudinal frame beam, the engine 27 being disposed above the gear-box. The cabin 16 extends across the whole width of the tractor over the front wheels 7, and the engine 27 is positioned behind the cabin 16 in an engine compartment 17 the top of which is located at the same level as the flat top 42 of mudguards 40 over the rear wheels 8. An output shaft 28 projecting forwardly from the engine 27 is connected by gearing in a transmission box 30 to the gear-box, and the gear-box output is connected to differential gearing in a housing 48 connected to the rear of the central frame portion 2A. A housing 48 connected to the front of the central frame portion 2A carries a front axle 4. Power take-off shafts 15, 29 and twopoint lifting devices 31, 32 are provided at both ends of the tractor. In another embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown), the cabin is mounted to one side of the tractor and part of it is disposed over the engine compartment.
