Abstract

1372642 Catamarans &c. H A PADWICK 2 Feb 1972 4995/72 Headings B7A B7S and B7V A boat having two or more hulls 10, 12, a deck 18 interconnecting the hulls, a sail 22 supported by a mast 20 is provided with means for relocating the sail into an operative position when the boat is inverted. As shown a forward cross-member 16 which supports the deck 18 also serves as a pivot for a plate 40 which carries mast 20. When the boat is inverted (Fig. 4) the boat is derigged and a pin 46 is withdrawn allowing the mast to be turned through 180 degrees about the cross-member 16. Another pin 39 is then removed so that the mast can be turned through 180 degrees about its own longitudinal axis and the boat can be rerigged. (For Figures see next column.)
