Abstract

1371087 Cutting tools BRIDON Ltd 29 Sept 1972 [20 Dec 1971] 59002/71 Headings B3B and B3T For use in a machine tool such as a lathe there is provided a tool holder for an elongate cutting tool such as a parting-off tool, the tool holder comprising a rectangular or parallelepipedic block 1 having a channel 4 which extends along one side for the accurate location of a cutting blade 12 the blade being secured to the block by way of a clamping plate 17, 20 and screw 18. The front end of the tool holder is upwardly arcuate or tapered 21 or 2 to provide rigid support for the lower region of the blade during operation, the whole of the lower region of the blade being supported by the side 9 of the channel 4.
