Abstract

1370696 Flat cable RESEARCHCENTRUM OGEMAT BV 17 Sept 1971 [26 Jan 1971 11 June 1971] 43395/71 Heading H1A [Also in Division H2] An electrical conductor casing 1 comprises an elongate flexible base having grooves 2 in which base cables 15 may be laid, and a cover 5 which is held in place by the bead 7 and the shaped slot 3<SP>1</SP>. A projection 9 enables the piece 10 to be grasped to lift the cover. A duct 11 has lugs 14 to hold the casing in place and further lugs 13 to hold a contact device as in Fig. 11 in which contact strips 28 are biased by springs 29 in holder 43 to make contact with the conductor in the casing. (The casing is absent from the duct in this figure). Clamps 26 hold a lower box 37 in place, and each contact strip is housed in a separate compartment which is in communication with a respective compartment in the upper part 46. In another embodiment the hair pin spring 29 may be replaced with a helical spring. In a further embodiment the cover 5 may be replaced with a layer of plastics material such that on removal of the contact device, the holes formed by the contact pins substantially close up.
