Abstract

1369784 Circulating air between double glazed panels SULZER BROS Ltd 25 Jan 1973 [25 Jan 1972] 3850/73 Heading E1R A double-glazed, openable windor (or door) 22 includes air inlet and outlet ducts, e.g. 2, in the fixed frame which communicate with respective inlet and outlet openings, e.g. 6, in the window which communicate with the space between the double glazing to admit cooled air in summer and heated air in winter, the air outlet duct including a valve arranged to be automatically closed on opening the window. Preferably an identical valve 9 is positioned in the air inlet duct and comprises a flap 9 spring-loaded by a spring 10 to the closed position and having a flange 11 engageable by the window in its closed position to open the valve. For a slidable window, the valve may be a slidable member entrained by the window. Foraminous sheets 13 cover the inlet and outlet openings 6.
