Abstract
1366944 Photo-electric testing apparatus GLAVERBEL 29 Nov 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 56282/71 Heading G1A [Also in Division G2] A method of determining the light-deflecting properties, of an area of transparent material 33 comprises projecting a divergent beam of light 32 through the area and reflecting it back from a reflector 34 as a convergent beam 36 to a detector 39 which incorporates photo-electric cells 43. The material 33 is mounted on a conveyor 35, and undeflected reflected beams 36 are intercepted by an opaque zone 41 on a filter 40. The cells 43 operate a switch 46 to remove unsatisfactory material 33.
