Abstract
1366162 Photographic exposure control by scanning EASTMAN KODAK CO 19 Aug 1971 11342/74 Divided out of 1366161 Headings G2A ABH A404 A483 A486 A489 A557 A558 A711 and A709 An original (12), Fig. 1, (not shown) is scanned to produce signals D representing its point-bypoint optical density; the signals D are integrated at 24 and inverted at 26 to produce a signal - A indicating the average neutral density, fed to a peak voltage detector 28 to produce a signal X indicating the max or min density, and fed to a differentiator 32 and integrator 34 to produce a signal # indicating the average rate of density charge; and the signals -A, X and # are summed at 36 to produce an exposure control signal F which is preferably combined with red, green and blue control signals produced by a primary control (1), Fig. 1, (not shown). A manual over-ride (38) may be provided for use when unusual originals are being printed.
