Abstract
136,450. Marks, E. C. R., (Soc. Franco- Belge de Fours a Coke). May 1, 1919. Hydrocarbons, distilling.-Benzols are continuously fractionated by treatment with a counter-current of steam in such manner that the rectification of the separate fractions is effected solely by means of the liquid under treatment. Column stills arranged in series, and, it may be, superposed to form a single column A, are used, the benzol being admitted by a pipe B and the steam by a pipe C. Pipes fitted with regulating- valves E lead the several fractions from the top of each section to condensers D.
