Abstract

1363789 Work-tables HAMMERLE AG 18 Dec 1972 [22 Dec 1971] 58435/72 Addition to 1261175 Heading B3E A work-table for a metal working machine, particularly a press brake, comprises a panel 1, a support element 3 mounted in a member 4 for vertical displacement therein and defining therewith a chamber for receiving oil 9 on which the element rests, and a vertically displaceable separation member 7 between the support element and the oil 9. The panel supports a tool 2 and the support element extends over the whole length of the panel. A plate 5 is mounted in the chamber and is provided with circular bores 6 in which a corresponding number of pistons 7 are inserted. Each piston is equipped with two sealing rings 8. The support element abuts the member 4 when the table is not in use. When the table is under pressure the panel descends with element 3 and the pressure is transmitted via pistons 7 to the oil to give a uniform pressure distribution along the panel. Another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), utilizes an impermeable elastic diaphragm (11) which contacts the lower face of member (10) and abutments on member 4 in order to seal off the oil chamber.
