1363243 Brake boosters AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 17 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 5163/72 Divided out of 1363241 Heading F2F A servomotor booster for a vehicle braking system including a diaphragm 25 dividing a casing into two compartments, a push-rod 12 connected to the driver operable pedal, a plunger connected to the push-rod, a valve operated by the push-rod to control the pressure differential across the diaphragm, an output thrust pin and thrust-transmitting means including diametrically-opposed levers 65 having their inner ends engaged with a fulcrum support provided by the plunger and their outer ends in engagement with supports provided by the diaphragm, a thrust-plate 68 engaged with the thrust pin 79 and supporting fulcrum means for engagement with the levers intermediate their ends includes a coil spring 76 acting between the diaphragm 25 and the output thrust pin 79 so that a thrust applied to the diaphragm 26 is transmitted to the thrust pin via the coil spring initially, the fulcrum means being held spaced from the levers by the spring until resistance to movement of the output thrust pin in the operating direction overcomes the loading of the coil spring.
