1363242 Fluid-pressure brake boosters AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 17 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 48762/71 Divided out of 1363241 Heading F2F In a brake booster with a casing 20 divided by a movable wall 25 and having a pedal-operated push-rod 12 and a valve arrangement including an annular valve member 41 having a central aperture through which the push-rod extends and annular valve seats 50, 52 the diameter of one seat 50 is less than that of the other seat 52 and the valve member 41 includes an annular projection 42 which is a sliding fit in a ring 43 whose aperture diameter is equal to that of valve seat 52. The arrangement is such that in use the fluid pressures acting on the member 41 are balanced when the latter is engaged with seat 52 to prevent communication between annular cavity 51 and the compartment connected to vacuum.
