1363241 Brakes boosters; pistons AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 17 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 5359/71 Headings F2F and F2T In a brake booster having two compartments formed by dividing a easing by an assembly including an annular diaphragm piston 27 the radially inner peripheral portion 50 of the diaphragm comprises a thickened ring of resilient material at least part of which is engaged within an annular groove 51 defined in the outer surface of the housing, resilient material engaged within the groove being compressed so that two axially spaced annular surface portions 52, 53 of the thickened ring are urged into abutment with' portions of the groove to provide a fluid-tight joint between the diaphragm and housing, there being an annular space defined between the thickened ring and the radially-innermost surface portion of the annular groove.
