Abstract

1362620 Gas scrubber COMBUSTION ENG Inc 19 July 1972 [21 July 1971] 33784/72 Heading B1R A wet gas scrubber comprises a gas passage 14, liquid spraying means 16 and a plurality of parallel-spaced rods 18 downstream of the spraying means and extending transversely across the passage 14, and a motor 32 which rotates the rods 18 via shaft 35 through 90‹ so that the rods can extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the passage 14. A second set of rods 22, which may have a different rod-to-rod spacing as in the first set may be provided, together with an associated spraying means 20, downstream of the first set. Each rod comprises an inner rod member 36 attached to the shaft 35 and an outer sleeve 38 detachably attached to the inner rod member 36 by screws 40. A moisture eliminator 28 is placed downstream of the final set of rods.
