Abstract

1362472 Automatic exchange systems SIEMENS AG 17 Jan 1972 [19 Jan 1971] 2060/72 Heading H4K In a multiexchange system, interexchange signalling is effected over PCM order wires which are each provided with separate data inserter/extractors for intercommunication with the central processor at each exchange. The particular order wire type mentioned is one which uses a particular channel on a TDM highway for carrying signalling data, data in respect of a call i.e. an information channel, being located entirely in the signalling channel of a particular frame or dispersed over the signalling channels of several successive frames. The PCM highways are referenced Lab, Lan on the drawing, those having the suffix 1, 2, 3 being connected to a tandem highway switch Vb which permits access to other highways when tandem calls are involved or to a TDM switch As having PCM subscribers connected thereto. The other switch Kfr permits analogue subscribers to be connected in space division manner to a multiplexor /demultiplexor Mux. Signalling data on the highways is inserted/extracted by means of devices KS which are individually allotted to the highway terminating equipments Mux, Kfz and are connected to a central processor Ast, Zst.
