Abstract

1362267 Adjustable tables D NASH 21 Feb 1972 [19 March 1971] 7421/71 Heading A4H [Also in Division E2] A table top 4 is mounted on a cantilever arm 3 for angular adjustment by means of brackets 6, 7, at least one bracket 6 being provided with lugs 6a, 6b for securing to top 4, a journal 6g for receiving arm 3, and an arcuate slot 6i, the bracket having arcuate rows 6k, 61 (6n, 6f) of serrations on both faces thereof adjacent the slot. The serrations may be radial corrugations, as shown, or circular projections and depressions. The top 4 is held in a selected angular position by a releasable screw 8 mounted on upright extension (2a) and passing through the slot 6i and carrying a knob 9. On screw 8 behind knob 9 is a metal washer, and between the latter and the bracket is a deformable washer that co-operates with the bracket corrugations on tightening of knob 9. The interfaces of the washers may be serrated and/or the metal washer may have a peripheral rim surrounding the deformable washer. Similar washers may be provided on the other face of bracket 6; and this metal washer may be replaced by a fixed collar.
