Abstract

1361604 Rotary positive-displacement machines SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A B 5 July 1971 [9 July 1970] 33405/70 Heading F1F A two-stage meshing-screw machine such as a compressor, has pairs of rotors 34, 36 and 38, 40 disposed side-by-side in working spaces 14, 16 defined by a common housing member 10 and having a common flat end wall provided by a member 12, which separates from said spaces gears 82, 84 interconnecting the rotors 34, 38. A transfer channel 24 interconnects the working spaces. Oil is injected through chambers 88, 90 and holes 92, 94. The rotors may have dissimilar lengths and diameters as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the rotor diameters and lengths are equal and to vary the capacity an axially-sliding valve-member 118 abuts the low-pressure rotors. Gears 110, 112, 116 interconnect the male rotors and an input shaft 114. The valve member extends into a chamber 108 for the gears when the capacity is rendered minimum.
