Abstract

1361448 Corrugated floor plates PRINS N V and HOLLANDSE BOUWCOMBINATIE (HOLLAND BUILDING CORP) NV 6 Sept 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 41411/71 Headings E1K and E1W A floor is formed by pouring concrete into a corrugated steel plate 1 which serves as both a mould and a reinforcement, each corrugation wall 3 having two rows of bulged portions 4 extending parallel to the axis of corrugation. The bulged portions 4 are of circular outline and, within each row, are separated by 0.25 to 1.5 times the height of the walls 3 whilst adjacent rows on a wall are separated by 0.3 to 0.9 times the wall's height. The two rows may be staggered relative to each other but are preferably in a rectangular pattern as shown. The bulges are preferably part spherical and bulge towards the inside of the troughs 2. The plate has a thickness of 0.01 to 0.03 times the height of the walls 3 and a yield point, before being corrugated, of greater than 30 and preferably 40 hg/m<SP>2</SP>. Several plates may be linked together by engaging a lip 5 with a lip 6 on an adjacent plate. The maximum and minimum thicknesses of concrete in the plate are preferably in the ratio of a:1 where a is in the range 1.4 to 2.5 and preferably equals 1.6.
