Abstract
1359015 Workpiece feeding apparatus P MAESTRI 2 Sept 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 40949/71 Heading B3H A workpiece feeding apparatus for a press comprises a hopper 1 from which the workpieces issue onto a vibrating plate 4 leading to an ejecting device 8 inside a combustion chamber 14. In one embodiment the device 8 comprises spaced pairs of fingers 10 on a cylinder driven from an electric motor 6. The motor also drives a device 5 which vibrates the plate 4. The inclination of the plate 4 is adjustable by a hand wheel 16. The ejected workpieces fall onto a shoot 18 and are directed to the press. The combustion chamber 14 has a burner unit 15. The ejecting device may have one or two helical threads in place of the fingers 10, Figs. 4-9 (not shown), or comprise a grill (24), Fig. 10 (not shown), with a set of pivoted plates (22) actuated by an electromagnetic device (28) or an hydraulic cylinder. In an final embodiment the device comprises a metal trough (29), Fig. 11 (not shown), with ejecting plungers (31) operated by cams (32) or cylinders (35), Fig. 12 (not shown).
