Abstract

1358883 Knitting machines SINGER CO 5 Aug 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 36810/71 Heading D1C A pattern wheel for a circular knitting machine comprises a ring 12 with radial slots 20 in some of which are placed jacks 28 each pivoted to an arm 26, to form a unit removable from the slot, means being provided for holding the arms 26 in fixed position in the slots and for holding the jacks 28 in their needle actuating position. Ring 12 has a toothed edge 18 with flared-out spaces 22 to receive arms 26 and an annular groove 24. Two covers 14 and 16 secured to ring 12 respectively hold the arms 26 and the selected jacks 28 in position. With covers 14 only in place and jacks in open position, selected jacks are flipped over either manually or by an indexing device after which the cover 16 is secured in position. The wheel is rotatably carried on a sleeve 44 which is secured to the knitting machine.
