Abstract
1358333 Percarboxylic acids DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 7 Sept 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 41550/72 Heading C2C Water-free solutions of C 2-4 percarboxylic acids are obtained by (1) extracting aqueous solutions of the percarboxylic acid with C 3-30 phosphoric acid esters; e.g. those of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are alkyl, aryl or aralkyl radicals, (2) desorbing the extracts with organic solvents having boiling points which are lower than the boiling points of the phosphoric acid esters, and (3) removing water from the percarboxylic-acid-containing desorbate so produced. The percarboxylic acids may be obtained by reacting the corresponding carboxylic acids with hydrogen peroxide.
