Abstract

1357249 Valves BRITISH STEAM SPECIALTIES Ltd 19 Jan 1973 [9 Feb 1972] 6120/72 Heading F2V A check valve comprises an apertured seat 3 of conical form to the apex of which is attached a deformable moulded rubber closure member 7. The closure member is provided with longitudinal ribs 9 or grooves to determine the manner in which the closure member will deform under fluid pressure flow through the seat apertures. Stiff wires may be inserted in the grooves or the closure member may be secured, e.g. by adhesive, to the seat along longitudinal lines. Additionally, a circumferential rib may be provided partway between the base and apex of the closure member.
