1357118 Board game K F PARKER 24 April 1972 [27 April 1971] 11636/71 Heading A6H A game apparatus for two players comprises a board 5 upon which playing pieces 8 can be retained and seen by both players, and two direction indicators 13 (only one shown), one for each player, which are used to show the intended travel direction of playing pieces 8, and means (e.g. a shutter 19) for temporarily hiding the direction indicator of each player from the view of the opposing player. The apparatus includes a framework 4 supporting a transparent board 5 in a vertical position. One player sits on each side of the board 5. The board has an array of 30 apertures (6 x 5) in which may be supported, cardboard model aeroplane playing pieces 8. Each player has 5 such pieces 8 all 5 being of the same colour and marked with "1", "2" or "3" to, indicate the number of apertures the piece 8 may travel per turn of play. Each player also has a direction indicator 11 having a rotatable knob with a transparency thereon bearing a replica of an aircraft which may be set at any of eight direction attitudes indicated by the lines 14 and which aircraft replica is visible to the opposing player. A shutter 19 is provided for each player to hide the transparencies from the opposing player after each move.
