Abstract

1355842 Polysulphone/graft polymer blends BAYER AG 19 Aug 1971 [27 Aug 1970] 38964/71 Headings C3G and C3R A moulding composition comprises (A) a polysulphone, and (B) a thermoplastic polymer of (1) a polypentenamer rubber, and (2) polymerized, (a) styrene, a nuclear- or side-chain alkylated styrene, a halogen styrene and/or methyl methacrylate, and (b) acrylonitrile and/or methyl methacrylates, the weight ratio of (a) : (b) being from 100 : 0 to 50 : 50, from 25 to 100% by weight of (2) having been polymerized in the presence of (1) and the remainder, if any, having been added as a separate polymer. In the examples, a polysulphone of recurring structural unit is fused and homogenized in an extruder with a granulated blend of a polypentenamer grafted with styrene, acrylonitrile and, optionally, methyl methacrylate, bis-stearylamide of ethylene diamine and 2,6 - di - tert. - butyl - pnonyl phenol.
