Abstract

1355536 Terminals HONEYWELL Inc 1 June 1971 [2 July 1970] 18362/71 Heading H2E A terminal assembly comprises an insulating wafer 11, each side of the wafer being formed with a respective recess 12 and 14a, 14b and passage 13, 16 for supporting terminal members 21, 23 for leads 19, 22 which lie in the passages. The wafer is contained in a housing 25 retained between an end-wall 27 and a ring nut 28, with the terminal member 23 bearing against an end 30b of a terminal 30a and a washer 34 providing a gas-tight seal. A screw 32 carries thermocouple leads 31, 33 the end of which contact the terminal member 21 and the nut 28 respectively. The two ends of an electromagnetic coil 30 are thus connected to the leads 31, 33; one via terminal 30a, member 23, lead 22, a switch (not shown), lead 19, member 21 and head 31a, the other via the wall 27, housing 25 and nut 28. As shown, the terminal members 21, 23 each comprise a b-shaped disc with the tail of the b extending into the respective passages 13, 16. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the passages extend as apertures diametrically across the wafer and cavities and the leads engage directly the head 31a and the flat end (130b) of the terminal (30a).
