Abstract
1354135 1-Haloalkyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 16 Sept 1971 [26 Sept 1970 (2)] 43255/71 Heading C2C 2-Haloalkyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles of the general formula wherein R 1 is a C 1-4 monohaloalkyl group and R 2 is a C 1-17 alkyl group, the straight or branched chain of which is optionally substituted by an oxygen atom, or a phenoxymethyl, benzyl, styryl, phenyl, halophenyl, C 1-4 alkylphenyl or C 1-4 alkoxyphenyl group, which are novel when R 2 is a C 2-17 alkoxyalkyl, phenoxymethyl, benzyl or styryl group, are prepared by reaction of compounds of the general formulae R 1 COOH and H 2 N-NH-COR 2 in the presence of an inorganic acid halide and an inert solvent at 60-150‹ C. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1,026,361 and 1,161,802.
