Abstract

1353806 Screw removal WATERMASTER INDUSTRIES Ltd 23 Aug 1971 39500/71 Heading B1D A device for removing surface scum from liquids when used with a floating pump comprises an upper, double-walled annular section 12 of fibre gass reinforced polyester resin and filled with methane type foamed plastics. The section 12 has radial cut aways 20 which are closed at their bottoms by the rim of a lower open bottom truncated conical or cylindrical section 14 of similar material. A floating pump 18 rests upon a lower flange of the section 14 in use, or alternatively upon radial ribs (44), Fig. 4 (not shown). Flotation is adjusted by means of either height adjustable floats 46 which frictionally engage clips 50, or by rigidly attached floats, Fig. 5 (not shown), which are fitted with compressed air supplies and which have a bottom opening.
