Abstract
1353689 Dye compositions BADISCHE ANILIN-& SODA-FABRIK AG 24 Sept 1971 [26 Sept 1970] 44587/71 Heading D1B Dyestuff compositions comprise a dye of formula: and an alcohol of formula: optionally with further water-miscible organic solvents and/or a dispersing agent and are prepared by reacting a dye of formula: with an excess of alcohol of, formula: in which formulae A is a radical of a diazo component of the benzene, thiazole, benzthiazole, thiodiazole, benzisothiazole, benztriazole, indazole or phthalimide series, B is hydrogen or methyl, X is hydrogen, methoxy or ethoxy, Y is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, acetylamino, or propionylamino, R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1-4 alkyl group, R<SP>2</SP> is hydrogen, C 1-4 alkyl, alkoxyalkyl of 3-6 carbon atoms total, cyanoethyl, chloroethyl, #- cyanoethoxyethyl, benzyl, phenylethyl or a group and n is an integer 2 to 5. The reaction may be effected at 60-180‹C in presence of an acid or alkaline catalyst, to give a true solution. Further water miscible solvents are ethylene and propylene glycols, formamide, dimethyl formamide and N-methyl pyrrolidone. Polyesters, polyamides, polyolefins, polyurethanes and acetyl celluloses are dyed using dye baths obtained from the above compositions.
