1353191 3-Furoate esters CPC INTERNATIONAL Inc 19 April 1971 [20 April 1970] 27314/71 Heading C2C 3-Furoate esters of the formula are prepared by mixing a ketal of a levulinic ester of formulae where R is a C 1-4 alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen or R, A is aryl, alkaryl, or haloaryl and M is an alkali metal, and at least two parts by weight of sulphuric acid or phosphoric acid having concentrations of at least 60% to each part of ester. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,168,799.
