Abstract

1350731 Hexafluoropropylene polymers SIEMENS AG 7 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 768/72 Heading C3P An object is coated with a polymer film by exposing it to an electrical discharge produced by an alternating voltage between opposed faces of a pair of electrodes in the presence of gaseous hexafluoropropylene, the object being placed adjacent one of the opposed electrode surfaces. The coating may be applied to a metallized film or wire passing continuously past the electrode surface and in contact with it, the polymer being deposited on the surface of the film or wire not in contact with the electrode.
