Abstract

1350425 Water heating tanks IMI SANTON Ltd 3 July 1972 [5 July 1971] 31420/71 Heading F4A [Also in Division E1] In a water heating and/or storage tank comprising a casing 3 surrounding a water container 2 and having an internally screw-threaded boss 4 disposed therebetween to receive, if desired, an immersion heater, the boss is provided with a cover 7 which extends across the boss and is secured thereto by (a) a flange 9 constituting an interference push fit by (b) a screw-threaded flange or by (c) prongs as depicted in Figs. 5 and 4 (not shown), respectively. The cover has a projection 10 to facilitate removal and an edge flange 11 which bears against a plastics grommet 12. The space between the members 2, 3 is filled with a plastics insulating material foamed in situ.
