Abstract
1350006 Pneumatic actuators MARTONAIR Ltd 30 Oct 1972 [10 Nov 1971] 52134/71 Heading F1D In a pneumatic actuator the position of a piston 16 is indicated by pressure tappings 12-15 and detector and indicator means 31, 32. With the piston moving to the left if the pressures at tappings 12, 13 are the same, the piston has not passed the tapping 13. If the pressures are different, i.e. the pressure at 13 is higher, the piston has reached the end of its travel. Tappings 14, 15 give similar indications when the piston is moving to the right. Holes 30 and suitable conduits may be provided to give information about the position of the piston between the ends of its travel. Inlet ports 18, 19 may be used as pressure tappings and the actuator may be liquid operated.
