Abstract

1349838 Pneumatic conveyers STURTEVANT ENG CO Ltd 5 May 1971 [22 May 1970] 25011/70 Heading B8A A valve for discharging particulate or powder material from a hopper or from a pipe-line having a series of outlets comprises a body 1, end plates 2, 4 defining respective inlet and outlet 3, 5, a solenoid operated valve 11 acting to open and close the inlet 3 and air supply pipes (7), Fig. 2 (not shown), coupled to the body 1 between the inlet and outlet. In operation the outlet 5 has a one way valve in the form of a naturally flat flexible tube 14 and on opening the valve 11 material enters the body 1 for a predetermined time until the valve 11 shuts. Air is then introduced into the body, which opens the valve 14 and discharges the material along a pipe (not shown).
