Abstract

1349596 Cleaning apparatus XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [24 Feb 1970] Divided out of 1349595 37964/73 Heading A4F In a microfiche storage unit, an upper tray (26), Fig. 2, (not shown) and a push plate (20) mounted within a top cover 18 secured to tray (26) each have a pair of opposite ledges 32, 36 urged apart by a compression spring (22) to define slots therebetween for insertion of a fiche for cleaning. Cleaning elements 44 are mounted on the ledges 32, 36. To clean, the fiche are withdrawn from between elements 44 with a push button (24) of the plate (20) depressed to move the ledges 32, 36 towards one another. Each cleaning element comprises a plastics extruded base strip 46 of C-section, covered with a silicone treated cleaning cloth 50, and snap-fitted on to the ledge 32 or 36 and having a shoulder 48 co-operating with a shoulder 40 or 42 on the ledge.
