Abstract

1348793 Coating non-metallic surfaces R C A CORPORATION 22 July 1971 [31 July 1970] 34380/71 Heading C7F Plastics are plated electrolessly with e.g. Ni, Co, Cu, Au, Pt, Pd or combinations-thereof by a process comprising prior treatment with a sensitizing solution containing both Sn<SP>2+</SP> ions and Sn<SP>4+</SP> ions in a ratio from 1:1 to 1000:1, the solution having a pH of 1À5 or lower. The substrates are subsequently treated with an activating solution comprising PdCl 2 prior to plating.
