Abstract

1347635 Packages F HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO AG 18 July 1972 [19 July 1971] 33539/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division C6] A package for maintaining bacterial control discs in a dormant uncontaminated state comprises a plastics sheet 1 with thermoformed blisters 3 containing the desiccated discs, and a cover sheet 4, preferably of paper, which is permeable to water but impermeable to bacteria and is discontinuously sealed to sheet 1 for ease of removal. A bacteria containing aqueous gelatine composition is placed in the blisters 3, the cover sheet is sealed in position, and the water is rapidly evaporated in a vacuum desiccator. The gelatine shrinks to discs within the blisters. Perforations allow separate blister packages to be torn off.
