Abstract

1344355 Endless tracked vehicles HAGGLUND & SONER AB 19 April 1971 [31 March 19701 25770/71 Heading B7H In a tracked vehicle the links 2 of an endless track have their transverse sides formed by the hinge portions 9, 10, 9 and 11, 11 which are connected by octagonal pins passing through rubber bushes 12. The pitch of links 2 is less than the pitch of cogs 21 of sprocket 20 so that only at the last cog before unwinding is there any driving contact 27. Thus, since the sprocket engaging surfaces 8, 8 of the links are part of the surfaces of hinge portions 11, 11 and are of a diameter smaller than that of the sprocket recesses, winding-on of the links occurs with reduced sliding contact and wear. A cushioning strip 22 of rubber may be provided around sprocket 20. Replaceable wear pads 16, 17 (Fig. 3) of material softer than the rest of the track are bolted to each member 2 so as to contact, respectively, the wheels 7 and the ground.
