Abstract

1343286 Blocking machine; transferring apparatus LETRASET Ltd 19 April 1971 [26 May 1970] 25219/70 Headings B6C and B6J A blocking press comprises a die 6 movable between a heating station 2 and a work station 1 where it is used to impress a design on an article 12 with a marking foil drawn from supply 15. The die may be supported on a cushioning layer of foam 8. The die surface is heated directly from plate 9. On movement of the die supporting bar 4 to the heating station a bar 16 is arranged to lift the foil clear of the work station to permit insertion or removal of an article to be marked. In a further form (Fig. 2, not shown) a series of dies is mounted on a turntable such that each die may be moved successively through a heating station and a work station. The die may have a plain surface and the marking foil may be replaced by a strip of heat transfers.
