Abstract
1343059 Tension control in yarn winding TORII WINDING MACHINE CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 20832/71 Headings DID D1F and D1J Yarn E fed to a yarn winder from a constant speed source is threaded about guides 20, 14, 23, 15, 24, 16 and 22 in turn. Guides 20, 23, 24 and 22 are fixed while guides 14, 15, and 16 can move on arm 13 which is pivoted to arm 7 in such a way as to be movable from the position shown to the position denoted by line Y'Y'. This movement is in response to changes in yarn tension and via sprocket 47, chain 36, lever 37 and chain 39 operates on a device 4, e.g. a variable transformer, which controls the winding speed to counter yarn tension variation. Feeler 44 of micro switch 43 when activated by lever 37 disconnects the transformer from the drive motor. Micro-switch 43 may also be acted on by handle 41. In the event of a complete loss of tension arm 13 falls to its lowest position, also guide 22 rises which stops winding and activates a sucking device 17 to entrain the slack yarn. Arm 13 may be clipped in its highest position to facilitate threading up.
